UNC doctors find clues to severe PMS

UNC researchers are into the second of a five year National Institutes of Mental Health study exploring the link between Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and a history of physical or sexual abuse. Studies suggest that there may be a biological alteration that occurs among women with PMDD. Susan Girdler, Ph.D., professor of psychiatry and member of the Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorders Studies Program hopes to find an answer.
